• HELLO,

    I'M HELEENA.

    People often call me H.

I'm a Toledo, Ohio native who currently lives in & LOVES Cincinnati.

It may sound cheesy but I am a fan of life - including meeting new people to discuss ideas, businesses and innovations that make all our lives happier and healthier. It also includes spending time with and/or doting on my friends, family and favorite people.

I am always willing to connect with individuals and projects that value my enthusiasm, insightfulness and flexibility. If there's anything with which I can help - I will! Explore my site and if it sparks an opportunity or idea for collaboration, let's meet up for coffee so I can learn about you as well. ☕

  • Projects & Passions.

A select few things I'm working on:

    Why not be happy?

Trust me, I'm well aware that we can't all be optimistic all the time. But I've found that we can turn most situations around simply by asking "why not be happy about...?" This project is as much for me as it is for everyone who will come across it and it's designed to insert some positive spin into any of life's daily struggles. The website, social sites (and store!) are currently being re-vamped.

You did a good thing. It's okay to talk about it.

One of the things many of us struggle with most is telling others when we've donated time or money to a cause, disease, or project. With the rise of cause marketing, social media activism and more - I think it's important to separate the talkers from the doers so we ensure giving back is ALWAYS in style. Whatever one's reason for giving, let's make them excited to talk about it! I also have a detailed business plan incorporating quite a few ideas around a technical platform and extension to track giving better. I would love to partner with someone a bit more tech savvy to carry this vision out.

    Digital Communication & Design.

In early 2016, I created a digital magazine to welcome new physician hires to the region. Since that time, I've also produced fantastic marketing materials for my and other organizations, volunteer sites, friends & family. My communication materials are not of expert caliber, but I share this example of how I commit to learning about and using available resources to tell a story or showcase a brand to which I believe in.

Bring me (and others) into your work.

If you know the complexities involved in live tweeting events, you know why it can be a bonus to call in someone to assist you with social media. Many make the mistake of thinking a busy communications team can successfully promote, coordinate and carry out an event while also handling the live social media within. While it is possible - having someone to research, content plan and work the actual events is great for your followers, as well as speakers, sponsors and general attendees. When I live tweet your event, I work with your existing mediums to showcase the best of the actual event. I make people who aren’t even there feel like they’re in the room… and people who are there, feel like part of a movement.

The only time a woman is helpless is when her nail polish is drying...

And even then, she's still not helpless! Fun fact: I'm a licensed manicurist. Currently I'm a part-time nail tech at Spruce Natural Nail Shop, an eco-friendly nail salon in Cincinnati's Over-the-Rhine Area that focuses on creative artistry. You can usually find me there on Saturdays, but if not - go and get pampered by any of the amazing nail techs there! During any small gaps on my resume, you could find me working full-time as a nail technician, as pampering people and helping them feel their best is one of my greatest loves. In Cincinnati I've worked at Mitchell’s Salon & Day Spa, Tuscany Spa Salon and 21C Spa at the 21C Museum Hotel. I even completed my Master’s thesis on Self-Care & Spa Therapy, so you can say I'm a true believer.

Remember I said I like to bring out the best in people? Well, I even meant their organs... :)

Though this is not my organization, the Alliance for Paired Kidney Donation and organ donation causes are near and dear to my heart. As a living kidney donor who went through the AFPKD, I like to promote the lifesaving working going on in both living and deceased donation at their organization and others. Being a living donor may not be right for you, but simply signing up to be an organ donor when deceased can save as many as eight lives! If interested, feel free to ask me questions about the process and if I can't answer them - I'll direct you to someone who can. Also, I encourage you to donate your time and money to organizations such as this one where you know the value of your dollar has limitless potential.

    My beliefs...

If you’re still interested in learning more about what guides my daily behavior, feel free to check out my About.Me page for my value statement - which is basically a list of all the beliefs I hold close to my heart.
